Mark Gaynor began his career with the Associated Press in New York almost three decades ago. He continued to work in daily journalism as a newspaper reporter and with the Associated Press in Kansas City and Jefferson City, Mo. In 1984, he took a top editorial position at a major trade publication in Chicago. In 1988, he co-founded Gaynor Communications, which has done extensive financial writing and publication development, including creating and producing publications for Merrill Lynch, Transamerica Retirement Services and Charles Schwab, among others.

Alison Kittrell has been a working journalist for almost 30 years. She began in daily newspapers, and in 1981, as copy desk chief at The Kansas City Times, she handled the paper's Pulitzer prize-winning coverage of the collapse of the skywalks at the Hyatt Regency hotel. In 1984, she began to focus on business journalism, and in 1988, she co-founded Gaynor Communications.
